Research Award

The Delores P. Aldridge Graduate Student Research Award was named to honor its donor for contributions made to establish this initiative. Cash awards are made to winners of the annual graduate student research competition. The award recognizes the participation and research accomplishments of graduate students and encourages them to address social and behavioral issues that impact Blacks. 

Dr. Delores P. Aldridge is the Grace Towns Hamilton Professor Emerita of Sociology and African American Studies at Emory University and a nationally recognized scholar, author, and personality in the academy.  She has dedicated a significant portion of her profession to mentoring graduate students through teaching, research, and advisement.

Dr. Aldridge has indicated that she is interested in establishing a permanent endowment for the Graduate Student Research Initiative and states that it is "a most important activity designed to increase young scholars involvement in the organization."  The following links provide additional information about Dr. Aldridge including accomplishments and involements.
